We praise you, God.

We praise you not as the easy God that we used to know;

the God with simple answers to all of our questions

who was magical but distant

who was frightening and predictable

We praise you today as the God who is alive,

vibrant,

and full of wonder.

We praise you for your love that shouts through our pain,

your hope that whispers through our longings,

your light that shines through when we least expect it

and least deserve it.

We praise you today, not as an easy God,

but as a God who meets us today in this place -

in mystery and in love. Amen.
