Guitars, Music, and Prayer -- Come as you are, Come & go as you like. We meet in the Santuary.

Sunday, 9:00 A.M.

A worship service in an abbreviated format, 30-minutes long! The service has same theme and message of the later service, but is less formal and does not include all the worship elements of the second service.

Sunday, 11:00 A.M.

A reverent, joyful hour of worship that follows the christian year (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost). Highland is known for its engaging sermons, outstanding sanctuary choir, organist, other gifted musicians, spirited congregational singing, and participatory style of liturgical worship.

Contemplative Service

Last Tuesday of month 6:30 p.m.

This service, lasting 30 to 40 minutes, is based on the Taize Prayer service of the monastic community in Taize, France. It is a simple worship service centered on singing, scriptures & prayers, and silence. The overall tone of the service is meditative and involves interacting with God in an atmosphere of quiet and peace. The lights are low; candles are lit; there is the sound of a small water fountain in the background.

Worship takes place in Highland's beautiful English Gothic sanctuary with its stone walls and wooden trusses, built in 1914 at the corner of Grinstead Road and Cherokee Road. The most notable features of the sanctuary are the ten sets of stained glass windows depicting 60 women and men of faith, forming a powerful "cloud of witnesses" that surround the congregation in worship. Overlooking the sanctuary is the larger "Revelation" window depicting hope in the victorious, Risen Lord.
