PHILLIPPhillip introduced Nathanial to Jesus,
advising him wisely to "come and see" if
any good thing could come out of Nazareth
(John 1:43-51). It was Phillip who said to
Jesus, "Lord show us the Father, and we shall
be satisfied" (John 14:8). Phillip holds the
staff representing his missionary travels in
upper Asia and Phyrgia. He holds two loaves
of bread recalling his remark on the occasion
when Jesus fed the multitude: "How are we to
buy bread so that these people may eat?"
(John 6:5). The figures in back of Phillip
recall the story of the feeding of the five
thousand. |
