Welcome to the Highland Baptist Youth Group’s website!
|
The HBC Youth Group is a vibrant, eclectic, and welcoming group of middle school and high school students who gather together to learn and experience what it means to be a Christian in the world today. As teenagers grow, they strive to make their faith their own. The purpose of HBC Youth Ministry is to walk with them in the journey. |
Our Mission Statement: The Youth Ministry of HBC exists to grow teenager’s faith relationship with Jesus Christ through fellowship, Bible study, service, discipleship & evangelism.
Regular Activities:
Sunday Morning Bible Study
Join us in the Youth Room on Sunday mornings for Sunday Morning Bible Study! We gather on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 to meet together and learn from scripture. We have Bible Studies for 6th and 7th grades taught by Matt Ridge, Suzanne Harrett and Laurie Redding; 8th and 9th grades taught by Phillip Garrett, Ronnie Gilbert and David Stillwell; 10th, 11th and 12th grades meet with Phil Collier and Clifton Salas.
Encounters (Wednesday Nights)
With one another, with our community, and with Christ Encounters is our new Wednesday Night programming for the fall! We are going to be encountering our community by focusing each month on a challenge in our area! Each month, we will talk about the challenge, what God has to say about it, and what we can do! At the end of every month, we will be able to get out and get our hands dirty by having a mission project in Louisville. Check the newsletter for our topics for the upcoming months! But don’t worry, we are going to have some fun too! From 6:00-6:30 we are going to let loose and have some fun and then we’ll be gathering in groups to learn about and discuss our monthly topic! Encounters Leaders: Robert Davis, Autumn Reece, & Katie Williams!

What we’re all about!
º Proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ!. That everyone needs a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, and that everyone is welcomed by Jesus
º Creating a safe place for youth:
. To which youth without church homes or faith backgrounds are actively invited by HBC youth and adults;
. Where new youth and guests feel welcomed and invited to participate
. Where youth can count on the adults and the other youth to care for them, to be patient with them, and be forgiving towards them.

. Bible Study that teaches awareness of the biblical story and its characters.
º Providing discipleship opportunities for all youth
. Times of dialogue where the Biblical Story meets their own story and youth are encouraged to apply it to their lives
º Providing a deeper discipleship and accountability opportunities
. For youth who choose to work deeper on their faith.
º Providing service opportunities for youth
. Chances to live out the call to serve others in the name of Christ
º Providing opportunities for fellowship
. Chances to spend time together in play and relaxation that also provide low-pressure opportunities for new youth to fellowship with our group.
